Difference between a small block rear and big block rear
For a 67 I would like to know what are the differences. Ive looked and all I could find were the axle stubs.. (caps vs U bolts) Does this mean essentially you can make a big block rear out of a small block with just a stub change?

Well the tapped differential yokes with the bolt on caps is the obvious change, but there also ratio stamps on the differential that would be specific only for a big block car. These would be AT, AU, AZ, FA, FB and FC codes. So a 1967 big block 4:11 rear would have an FB code, but if you have a 1967 corvette 4:11 diff with an AP code, then it came out of a small block car

Yes but that would not affect the performance which is what the OP is referencing..

I found the FA stamped on the top of my fathers differential just yesterday. I thought they only stamped the differential codes on the stamp plate on the bottom, so i was surprised to find the F and the A clearly stamped into the top.

Yep that and Jim Beam Black Label are good for sipping.
This question about the yokes if all that is different on the stub axles is how the u-joint is mounted what great benefit is it to change to the BB stub axles? Most of the failures that I have seen here and on the internet revolve around the half shaft failing not the stub axle.
I have seen what appears to be the trailing arm stub axle used as a differential stub and the half shaft have the same half shaft connection.

Photo below shows what you may be talking about - Van Steel provided these flanged stub axles (and carbon fiber half-shafts) for the "King Ray" 572-powered '67 the late Jerry Clark built as a project car for "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine about six years ago.

I know this is a custom, but did Chevy ever put a white stinger on a '67 Sunfire Yellow/white interior BB hood? I can't remember seeing one like this, I seem to remember black stingers with that color combo.
