Default Engine pad decode--not a vette...

But I know someone can tell me if this is a 65 or 66 block and what it is out of

T06IILB
Casting 3855961
Date F 7 5

I have sold this engine but there seems to be some confusion on weather it is a 65 or 66. I dont know when the switch from 65 to 66 took place.

My internet searches leads me to believe this out of an impala 325hp automatic towanda built block built on June 7 th and stamped on the 11th. So is it a 65 or 66?? Thanks Jim

I would say it was used in a very late production 65 Impala They built cars until the end of July. With the change over in Aug. just note that block requires the special oil grove in the cam

its a very well known on all 65-66 Chevy BB need the a grove in the rear cam journal so oil can get to the top end of the block. they also came with a distributor with a semi circle oiling grove. no mater what any one says you need the grove in the cam. it also takes a special barring

This covers the groove in the '65-'66 BB cam rear journal and the special 3-hole rear cam bearing that goes with it.
