Default 1963 Steering Column and Horn Assemble

I am trying to put the horn assembly on my early 1963 corvette back to stock. I know that is had a after market steering wheel
(see photo). I got the horn button and horn contact but it seems to have the wrong hub? What else am I missing. I do have the correct steering wheel on order. Is this the correct hub? I can e:mail photo's no problem but I can't post here at the moment.

The photo below is a '67 hub, but it's similar to the '63 hub; does yours look like the photo, or is it different? You may have an aftermarket adapter hub (like Grant, etc.).

John:

I will post a photo as soon as I get home from work. But it doesn't look
like that. It seems that the hub on it was put there to accomate the
after market steering.

When you replace,be sure and get a 63 unit. You also want to make sure all the turn signal mechanicals are in order also.

Yup, aftermarket.

Get a new hub and the horn plunger and spring. Might need the cancel cam too.

Ps. That steering wheel won't work on the factory hub.Factory wheel has multiple screws instead of using the shaft nut.

MiguestC2:

Is the hub removed by turning it. It looks like it is just mounted on a threaded
shaft.
