My 283 was rebuilt to original specs in 2004 and gets 5,000 miles a year on it.
I regularly use FelPro 5/32" valve cover gaskets when they need changed (solid lifters).
Nary a drop of oil leaks anywhere. Use whatever oil you like but don't base the decision on 'old style' gaskets can't handle synthetic. It's poppycock.

i am trying the mobil 1 15w50 in my 65 big block and i am going to put it in my 61. it seems to be good stuff so far. I am not having any gasket leaks so far.
