Default Distributor lubrication

What do you guys use to pack the lubrication cavity that surrounds the upper distributor bushing?

(In the past, I've just added oil to what ever dried out stuff was in there. There's got to be a better solution!)

Thanks

Harry

here is an article on restoring the Corvette Tach Drive distributors.

http://www.tispecialty.com/articles/article6.htm

scroll down to the "Assembly" instructions and look at steps #1 and#2 (and #7 also)
should answer your question.

If you need 20W non-detergent oil, try 3 in 1 oil for Electric Motors in the blue can.
Don't use regular car oil!
