Paint protection
I have a 67 350/327 that I am restoring, and just finished a urethane base coat clear coat paint job (with attention to making it appear as lacquer), and it looks great. I want to keep it that way. I just had it judged locally, and it missed top flight by 1.2 points. I have remedied almost all of these, so I anticipate it will top flight next year. I drive this a lot...I have already noticed some very small chips around the wheel wells. I have fixed them, but I want to continue to drive it of course. I live in the mountains of Colorado, with a ton of small rock on the road. I am looking at 3M urethane or other protective films. I know I'll take a hit at judging, but I should be well within top flight still. I already got a small hit last judging for the urethane/clear.
Anyone have some ideas on this or other options? I need to do something. Thanks! Matthew
