Default 1959 Corvette Seat Tags

I am restoring a 1959 Corvette, and when I removed the seats, there was a tag hanging from each seat with the following information:

BP 12 8 58
MSWB91114E1
3761742-11

These tags measure approximately 3 inches long by 1 inch wide, and they have rounded corners.

Does anyone know the definition of these numbers/letters? Do they define specifications of the original build similar to build sheets?

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

George

It is the manufacturer's tag; something like McIllhinney Spring Wire ?? and the company part number.

They made the frame & spring assemblies for the outside supplier that built the seats.

That is cool yours still exist, i tossed the tags off my car back in 1976 when the seats were redone, they seemed unnecessary back then.

I would suggest your seats were assembled dec 8, 1958.

Mine were so bad that they wouldn't hang on the springs. So i put them into small plastic holders and wire tied them to the springs.
