1953 Corvette Nomad !!
In addition to the early Corvettes, I love the Tri-Fives from Chevrolet - particularly the convertibles and the Nomad.
In 1953, Chevrolet built a Corvette Nomad prototype that never saw production - which is a shame.
There is a company out there that is building limited edition versions BUT the pricing is just crazy - $99K for the body and chassis alone.
I would love to have or build one - but NOT at this entry price point. Any comments or suggestions for fun???

LOVE IT!----------------------But I'm out!
Furthermore, IF, just IF, I could have one, I'd want it built much more closely to the REAL Corvette Nomad (ACTUALLY, it was called the Waldorf Nomad). It was NOT built on a Corvette chassis, it was built on a 53 pass car chassis (probably to provide the longer wheelbase).
When you study the production Nomads, the 55 pass car Nomad was the one that more closely approximated the styling of the Corvette Nomad. The 55 pass car Nomad was the ONLY one that had the same design rear wheel opening as the Corvette Nomad. The 56-7 Nomads had the regular pass car rear wheel opening.

Yes, the 55's had a full wheel opening...... wish it had that wheel opening as of the 56 - 57. Chevrolet made 58 and saw a 61 Nomad but it was a 4 door (bummer).

I hate station wagons with passion, I always have and always will BUT that Nomad is one of my all time favorite cars. And I have to say that the superior54 guys really nailed with this one, this car is absolutely spot on.
And I know they (Superior54 people) are willing to negotiate you a nice deal if you are going to build it yourself. I found myself stopping at their booth way too many times at last years SEMA show. I spoke with the Superior crew in great length about the car.
Here's an embarrassing video clip of me first seeing the car in person. Sorry for the lack of subtitles, this was never meant to be seen...

Looked at the pics; looked at the video and frankly...I'm just not feeling it at all. However, I can completely understand the price. Limited demand, lots of fabricated parts, etc.. I wonder how many of these actually get sold, in any form, annually.

I think they've sold just 5 so far and the car's been available for couple of years...

Let's say that they charged $80k just for labor to build the car. If they are charging another $99k for just the body, you'd have another $40k or so in parts and materials. OUCH! That's an expensive toy.

Plenty................
At least a Fastback resto-mod would be cheaper and not so commonplace.
When I build mine, it'll have a late model chasssis and driveline. Maybe even an LT5 since I have a couple extra sitting on the shelf.
