I've learned alot since purchasing my '62 a year ago, but have alot to learn-how do I know if mine is an early or late car? I do know it was built January 26th 1962....anyway, I need to order some weatherstrip fasteners, and I noticed that CC has part numbers for early and late.

Can anyone throw me some guidance?

Unfortunately no hard fast rule, a Jan car would probably clasified as early, but could go either way depending on the item in question.
I'd just buy the "late" kit, worse case you've spent $5 more and have a couple extra pieces.

Mine is May, no help, used the "late" like below.

Thank you, sir. I did manage to keep the weatherstrip when I took it off the car...guess I hadn't thought to count the fasteners that were on them-will look at tehm tomorrow. You made a very good point, though. Rather have extra pieces than not enough!

According to the C1 Registry birthday calculator my '62 ( close to #6000 ) was also built on Jan. 26, 1962. The color was also originally silver! I checked my old original weatherstrip and it has three clips per side ( two straight, one angle ) which is the "early" kit.
