Body off just for frame?
Motor & tranny out for paint etc. Body has no cracks , paint is very good driver quality with only a few hairlines in paint. Frame seems very good but rusty and I am thinking of removing body with everything intact and blasting /painting frame along with all the bushings etc. Will the body flex and crack? What provisions required to keep this from happening?

I took the body off my '66 Roadster 7 years ago just to do the frame. I did zero body work or paint work. No damage was done to the body @ all. Good luck with your project.

if you remove the body carefully and then support the body using bracing that attach at the body mount locations you should be safe

Put the body on a dolly specifically for holding it. When ever you need to move it around, it will be stable and prevent any damage. Many on here have built one and may share the details w/pics. Dennis

FWIW, roadsters require more support than coupes when raising the body off the frame until it is placed on the body dolly. This can mean having additional straps holding the tail and nose section in place as an extra precaution.

I just finished restoration of my '64 coupe. I took the body off over 20 years before to have the frame replaced. It sat up elevated 4 ft. on blocks for that many years before I got the money and time to put back and restore it. The blocks were located at the body mounting points plus a support under the radiator support, because I was told it would sag and crack the body. Well, it worked fine, since the body is perfect after being put back on the chassis last year!
