Default C2 Seat height problem solved

After painstakingly restoring the seats in my 66', I realized there was not enough headroom for a 6' tall man (my head was literally pushed against the headliner)

After reading several posts about using C5 seats, C6 seats, Fiero seats ect. I decided to modify my existing seat frames so I can keep the original look, and it worked out great

I can now sit straight up and just get my fingers to clear from my head to the headliner, Huge difference.

What did you change?

You must be all torso and no legs, because I'm 6'2" and have no issues in my 65 coupe. Seats are old but not worn out or collapsed.

I'm 6'4" and fit in my 65 coupe just fine. Seats rebuilt and firm as well.

I'd be interested in what you did but posting photos is not that hard. There is a tutorial with pictures to show you how in the FAQ section and at the top of this section.

i dont know how u 6ft 4 guys drive these cars. Im 6 ft and my head hits the head liner and i wish i could move the seat back 2 more inches. im bolting my C5 seats to the floor so i can pick up a little room but they still dont go cak far enough.

It must be differences in leg/torso proportions. Here's a picture taken in 1970 in my first 65 coupe when I was 22 years old. I'm 6'2" and still have just as much head room now. There's at least 2" between my head and the liner now.

I'm 6'3", 66 coupe. New Wilcox/Corvette America foam looks terrific but moved me about an inch closer to the headliner. Someday I'll go back, tear them down and skive off some foam. In the meantime, like others here, I still have adequate headroom.

I love the way my seats look but the foam from Corvette America is to dense as it has raised my seat height too... Try to discuss it with them and they are not interested.

I'm 6'5" and it takes real will power to get in/out and drive slouched down. Overall, not a problem at all!
