Nice work. I have been on this hunt also as you know. Ended up doing the artwork myself, using 3 different font styles as you mention. I could not find a font with a "3" like the original so I had to modify it to look like the original (with the droopy middle bar).

A friend has a CNC router and is in the process of engraving a couple plates for me. I'm picking them up tomorrow. Here's a .jpg version of my artwork for my Tremec 5-speed in my 66. Cheers, Bill

Got it done. Here they are ... original, my new one in the center and the piece of crap they sent me with my new 5-speed to use. Bill

Default shift plate contact info

Gents, my understanding is I can't post info for non-supporting vendors or parts sources so just PM me and I'll send you their info. Last person to order one paid approx. $42 which includes shipping.

Default recent work

I've been helping remodel a friend's house and skiing a bit... Also been rebuilding all the door latches/locks/window mechanisms which can be done inside while the garage is 100 degrees. Prepped the car for the new windshield but when they got it here, it had edge delamination - so waiting for a new one. Stopped by the upholsterer and picked up the tires/wheels. First pic is of the seat skin which shows the correct color of the leather, then the assembled seat. I should have them ready to go in next week. Also a couple pics of her new shoes!!! AR Torque Thrust M - chrome, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 225/50/17.

Still sitting a little high, will be just right with the seats, doors, glass, hood and top.

Default seats!!

Got the seats and shift boot cover yesterday! Just had to set them in and see what they look like. Will finish up the under dash stuff and install the steering column before bolting them in. Not long now...

Default progress... sorta

Well, I'm sure this type of thing happens quite a bit but I'm dead in the water b/c of the windshield... Installer said two weeks to get the Pilkington - took 3 but I got the clips/tape/plastic, etc all ready to go. Windshield #1 arrived but had edge delamination. Three weeks later, windshield #2 arrived but had edge indentions where they pulled it from the oven too quickly and the clamps pushed into the glass. Waiting on #3... called other suppliers/installers but no sooner on the glass... You'd think their QC would be better on these, why ship a defective piece - HMMMM. Anyway, the car is now sitting with the tape and plastic ready for the install, we'll see how long that takes!

In the mean time, I've rebuilt/installed all the door guts except the window glass to keep the weight down prior to hanging the doors, rebuilt the vent window cranks, installed the vent window glass into the frames/prepped the pivot shafts/holes. Waiting on the vent window rubber for final reassembly. Please excuse my greasy fingerprints all over the frames/glass...

I spy a 68 Shelby Mustang Convertible(i think) behind your seat. Is it yours? Any details? I'm still looking for my uncles 68 GT500KR convertible that was Acapulco blue.

Default Fiero seats and Ford

Sorry I didn't answer the seat question with the last post. The seats are from an '87 Pontiac Fiero, they fit the seat area really well and have much nicer seat and side bolster support. They also recline. Some have speakers in the headrests but I didn't want those. Picked these up out of a parts car for $50 and modified the mount hole locations in my floor to match up with the stock Fiero tracks (could've altered the tracks but it was just as easy to move the bolt plates).

The GT500 was at the shop of my upholsterer, he works on quite a few really sweet rides (and fabulous motorcycle seats!) PM me if you want his info. He's going to do my top as well - pics on that to come.

I'm normally not a fan of custom seats in a mid year but those look really nice.

Default trim

Finally got the trim on, what a whoopin'!! Still need to fine tune the overlap from the sides to the lower center piece but it's real close now.

Funny now but had an "oh, crap" moment when I couldn't find the two inner side trims. Knew I had to have them but couldn't find them anywhere. Panicked thinking that I had thrown them away when I tossed some parts boxes... they were laying in the back of the car - been there since I test fitted them weeks ago...

Rhett, the center pieces go on top of the vertical pieces. You've got them reversed. Bill

Default Great weekend

The weather is now fabulous in Texas, cooled down a bit so really nice to work outside. DUB verified that my install on the trim was correct, the side trim does overlap the lower center piece. I just need to get all the adjusting done to finalize the other side and interior trim. I also took the convertible top frame apart and got it all cleaned up, rust killed and painted. Coffman is restoring my header bar (serious rust rot), I should get that back in a few weeks.
