I've attached a few new pics.
I'm excited about the closure panel under the dash. This is the result of a brainstorming session regarding AC vent locations. He molded the panel from the passenger side (tape residue still on the factory piece). He's going to mold 2 of the factory Mercedes Benz vents into each panel. They are very nice, high quality.
Also you can see the form around the shifter to allow the use of the factory shifter trim, and yes that's a line lock on the shifter!!!
We are planning on wrapping the lower dash panels and center dash section with leather, and installing all of the factory trim on the dash with reproduction Wonderbar.

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but we pushed the column back to make it way more comfortable to drive. This will require modifying the dash cluster radius where it meets the new Flaming River tilt column.

I love the MB A/C vents. This is a detail missed by most but very important design element in my opinion. It is unfortunate we are stuck with some of the same old boring A/C vent designs by companies like Vintage Air.
We have done the same thing on a 58. The tilt function is nice but the column needs moved in because it comes to close to the driver. The gauge pod is cast so we are building a new gauge pod. How will you will modifying yours? You have a nice high end project.

Regarding the modification to the gauge pod, We are going to attempt to weld it, and then fill, sand and prime. Not the ideal material to modify. We toyed with the idea of wrapping it in leather, but decided to go adead and paint it. The plan is to wrap everything else in leather except the gauge pod.
I was not happy with the AC vent options billet, or Vintage Air and none of the look as nice as these, they are infinitely adjustable and twist to seal up or control air flow. Very high quality, they were only a couple hundred buck for 5 brand new factory vents.

A couple more pics for the night....
These are cute little batteries, and this is a super light (and cool) battery box.

I really like what you are doing to your dash! Using "Euro" parts is something I've been into for several years in my builds. I just started restro moding a 66 Coupe now and have started planning what changes I want for interior. Your build is inspiring me in more ways than one! Just for kicks I'll attach a picture of my "Euro 55" Chevy which I've been building for over 20 years. Euro components include: BMW rims (18"/20"), M3 leather seats with Mercedes custom door panels, Porsche 993 door handles, 911 electric mirrors, BMW side marker lights and Porsche Cayanne titanium metallic paint with all exterior stainless brushed and chrome parts powder coated silver. I'll copy your Mercedes benzel idea for the dash of the 55!

How did you drop the floors that much?

Swapped out the stock frame for a mid 60's frame. I've attached a few early pics of the floor fabrication, the floors were dropped 6" to flush up with the bottom of the frame rails. He also pushed the front of the foot wells forward about 1 1/2". This is about as roomy as you can make a C1, and to top that off we pushed the steering column into the dash about 2"-3".

Dash pod has been modified to match the radius of the column and a coat of paint. Really like the red, it's going to be a little different. I meant to get a picture of the folding license plate frame it foods flat and retracts under the car.

AAW makes great harnesses that are very user friendly! That is what I used in my split window and what I plan on using in future builds as well. They make an extremely nice plug and play retrofit harness for 67 Mustangs. I wish they would do the same for midyears!
Are you using the one they designed for the C1?
