The rounded glove box/spare tire lock key is the same, except it has a "B" stamped on the shank on the reverse side.

Without the key code stamping on the knockout, it's a duplicate key cut on an original blank. The 4-digit key code describes the key cut, and is also stamped on the barrel of the matching lock cylinder. With that 4-digit key code, a locksmith with a Curtis key-clipper can make an exact duplicate key, if he has a correctly keyway-coded blank.

If you want original keys, already cut, and with the codes stamped etc, then there are a few guys that can do that as well. Some are $ and others are $$$. Let us know if you want their names, etc.

Back in the day, dealers routinely removed the knockouts so they could put the keys on their promotional key ring (the hole in the knockout was too small for a conventional key ring), or kept them in the "deal folder" so they had the key numbers in case they (or the financing bank) had to repossess the car.

They are very easy to find/buy on Ebay. The key blanks for 1967 are "A" and "B". Then have a local locksmith cut the key(s). That is what I did.

Let me know as i wouldnt mind getting one.
I'm pretty sure the keys I have are original but I wouldn't mind having one made with the number on it. I just looked at the original welcom folder that came with the car and on the inside it has a plastic card with the original owners name, the vin number, and on the bottom the key number.
Thanks - Ed
