C2 Coupe Door Latch Removal & Reinstall
Anyone have some insight into removing the door latch in a '67 coupe. Is removal of the rear metal run required to remove the door latch? If so, is it necessary to remove the glass before the rear metal run can be removed? It seems the coupe single piece channel liner is riveted to the rear metal run and extends from the lower rear door to the top of the window.
Thank you
Dave

Dave, my car is a conv so I can't speak directly to your question, but I can say, watch closely how the connector rods are attached/positioned between the latch and the door lock mechanism before you remove anything...it's pretty tricky. Dennis

I'm not sure if it's absolutely necessary to remove it but doing so provides a lot more access for disconnecting the linkage and removal.

I didn't need to remove the rear metal run on my 63 verte I just fixed the door latch on. The 3 rod clips can be a little tricky to get loose and it took jiggling around to get the latch out.
I just took off the driver's side and used the passenger's side to make sure I put it back together correctly. Tricky to get the 3 rods back in there as well.

Thanks everyone for the info.
I've had the car for 20+ years and put off this project and the wiper motor removal, restoration and reinstall. Completed the wiper motor without too much pain (thanks to some great info from Classic-Chevy-Guy), so onto this.
