Great stuff! Thanks for adding the history to a great old pic.

Engine was a stock 327, 340 HP short block, engle roller cam and an M/T crossram manifold. Car ran high 12's around 112-115 mph. That photo was taken at Dover Drag Strip. Rick still has the car, but no engine at present time. He took out the 572 crate motor and put it in his '68 Caprice wagon.

A friend of mine Rick is the one that restored that car over ten years ago. Lives in the Lake George NY area. I saw it before the restoration started and when it was finished. He made sure the car stayed just as raced. Even built the same high winding small block. He was doing that car when I was building my 55 gasser. I have not talked to him in a few years. Not sure if he still owns it or not.

Thanks. Beautiful (& obviously functional) car you have in your av.

That is just too cool! The '61/'62 is my all-time favorite Corvette.
I'm trying to get my '63 ready for spring also.

He spent a lot of time at Blevins shop during his Pro Stock days learning how to build a 4 link for it. It had a big block and was totally bad *** when it was finished. Blevins was such a good guy with sharing his knowledge.

As I noted, car at the time had a stock 360 hp, 327 block. Mondello heads, Engle roller cam, cross ram 2-4's and Olds rear. I think the best time with that set-up was around 12.2 and around 118-120 mph. At the time you could only run 7" slicks.

Ohiovet posted it, but with a boogered IMG tag which kept it from appearing. I just cleaned up his link so the picture would show.
