A picture I found some years ago of the Shriners and their new Corvettes before the Gateway Arch was finished but some years ago I photoshoped my 62 into it.

Not sure where the autocross photo was shot.... maybe Greensburg Mall in Greensburg, PA

Wow Chuck ..... I used to drag race my bike at Keystone Raceway in 1968/69. It was a Honda 350. Admittedly a slow bike, but heady times for a kid in high school. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome.

My old club, the Corvette Club of Western Pennsylvania used to go to Corvette Day at Keystone....

Back in the early to mid 1990's, NCRS had one of their National Conventions at Seven Springs.

They did drags at Keystone. I went to the drags with my wife. We had an 88 coupe then and ran it there.

When I pulled into Keystone, it was like I drove back in a time warp. The place hadn't changed one bit.

My wife won a trophy that day in the 88. Can't remember what class. Too long ago. CRS.

Yeah, you never saw me with brown hair. Used to be that color when I was YOUR age. Heck, I'm older than your father.

Now, it's pretty much gray/silver, but at least I still have it.

Maybe I should try to look like some of these old Florida dudes with the "shoe polish black" hair dye jobs.

Received some pretty good coaching from my (then) soon to be FIL. He told me if I kept this car, at some point, it was going to be a real treasure to own. He also said that it would be up to me to do the right thing to make sure we never found ourselves in a situation where to “make ends meet” we would have to sell the car. Further, he made it pretty clear that once we were married, we would be on our own in terms of financial responsibilities.

He was a great guy and my admiration for him was enormous. These sentiments are much the same for my Dad who will be celebrating his 89th birthday this year.

Here is a picture of my first new car, a 1964 Volkswagen. It was a college graduation present for when I graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1965. I really wanted a Corvette but my parents said that this was all that they could afford. After all tuition was $100 per semester!

Here is my first new Corvette, 1985 with the 4 plus 3 transmission. It quickly ate the overdrive and I drove a loaner Mercury for 6 weeks while it was being repaired. Note the salt and crud from driving it here in Maine during the winter.

Me with my '61, and my buddy's "Trump", in 1970.

Me in it right after paint job and before chrome was put back on, also in '70.

I know Connecting Highway very well. The NYFD would hose down the road on Friday and Saturday nights so we couldn't race.
I still have my un sticked Connecting Highway sticker.
Check it out.

About 1968, 4 of us rented a 25x40 building to work on our cars when we were young (poor) and un-married. $100 per month. A great place to work on our cars, hang out and drink. The right two guys were in, the one on the left is a visitor.

A little work in the shop

Very nice!
In never had a muscle car , so i did not race...
I had a Triumph TR6 ( what was i thingking)
but in the 70s i worked a JFK airport on midnight shift.
i was the kid on the shift so, about 3Am they would send
to the Diner...I think it was called Airport City or the Airport Diner.
At that time in the morning on most weekends there would be a
bunch of the muscle cars , hoods raised , working out there bets
before heading out to "connecting highways"

Anyway were is "vettesville"
