I have to say, this tread is better than I expected it could/would be.
A special thanks to all of you who have opened up your own photo albums, to share your memories and past... as much as we love these cars, its really about people... and our relationships that matter most.
Just a few comments

Photo looks professionally done! Love the luggage rack on the back. Weeki Wachee? Were you bringing or "taking" your own Mermaid?
Tach Drive 61 Hunter and Corvette #30
Love to see someone pull into the NCRS national with a deer on the hood of their car!
426 Hemi Series #40
Wow! Great set... LOVE the go cart and you in the C3... " posin' "

Is there a story with the bottom pic of the man in white T-shirt with the Split Window? Neat!
DaielJ #59 (post above)
That is way cool. Thanks for sharing!
Interesting that very few of the photos show cars "all stock". Most of the time, when you see them "today" they are done up like "Day 1" cars, but in the 60s... they all look more like "Day 2" cars!
Look through those old photo albums... see if there are any more!

While searching, I stumbled across this thread
OLD CORVETTE PHOTOS started by Dan Hampton. Really worth the look!
This guy doesn't allow the use of his photos... but has a neat one page entry on his 63 with some cool pics

Melting Slicks
This is the one that got me hooked.........................my first Corvette (got it my senior year in high school, back in 196?, uh.......................a long time ago), a 2 owner all original 64 red on red coupe with 327 - 300 horse engine, 4 speed and AM-FM radio. Of course I had to "improve on what GM had done" by adding ET mag wheels and Goodyear white lettered tires. Later added factory side exh and finned Corvette valve covers. Wish I had this one back........................like I wish I had all my others back.

Jim Jeffords was a famous Corvette race driver in the 50's. He is a good friend of mine today and I am honored to know him. He was 86 last December 10.
1957 SEBRING CAR he bought ''AFTER'' the race and drove it home.
AT MILWAUKEE LABOR DAY WEEKEND 1957
MONTGOMERY, NEW YORK AUGUST 1958 WITH 1958 ''PURPLE PEOPLE EATER 2''.
RIVERSIDE JULY 1959 WHERE HE LOST TO BOB BONDURANT DUE TO A HUGE WRECK. JIM WAS UPSET THAT DAY. HE STILL WON THE B/P SCCA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN BOTH 1958 AND 1959.

It wasnt uncommon to take a hacksaw to C2s as soon as they got home, at put wider tires on them. Here are a few more recent...

Oh, great stuff.
Part of the ownership of these cars is the memories they jar of our childhood; looking through the window at the Chevy dealer - Corvettes were always locked at ours - and seeing these beautiful, unobtainable (to me or anyone I knew) exotics, when GM - and America - was at the top. Sometimes I need to pinch myself to remind me that I actually have one of these now....makes those night shifts in the ER a little more palatable.

Most of you have probably seen this 70's shot of Lincoln's Corvettes in Seattle Washington. A fun place to parts shop, gone long ago......
