Safety Car
This was BOB WINGATE'S 66 car. Bob was the sales person at CLIPPINGER Chevrolet who sold more Corvettes than any person back in the day. He won National Sales contests with Chevrolet.
He and others created the WSCC [ Western States Corvette Council] that became the West Coast sanction organization like NCCC for Corvette clubs. This created like rules for shows and autocross events. The east and mid west NCCC did not want to participate in California due to distance. Finally, in the mid 1980's, NCCC got organized nationally. WSCC is still in Northern California

Safety Car
This photo is from July 1957 at Paramount Ranch, California near Malibu. The Corvette is a Cascade Green 270hp driven by Bob Hoffman. Car is missing. The track was very dangerous and was closed after Dec 57 accidents with a death, and major injury to other drivers and cars. Later became the Cowboy Movie sets for Paramount Pictures.

Here is one of me checking out some new Corvettes at a dealer near Victor, New York. Check out the Firestone 500 Steel Belted Radials. I believe this is 1976...which is, gulp, 41 years ago!

Found this picture in a box of family photos. Trying to track the relative down? Do not know who it could be.

As many of you know, my '61 was purchased new by my dad. I took the car when he passed away in 2011.
My uncle (dad's brother) dug out these photos in honor of what would have been his 75th birthday this week.
These are from the morning of his wedding in May 1964
My Uncle George (best man) with my dad.
I was told the story of how he stepped in dog poop on the way to his wedding... Finally photographic evidence!

Good to have those memories......................even better to still have the car. Hang on to it for as long as you can.
Thanks for sharing.
