Not sure if my '65 is the same as the '66's, but here's a couple of pics of the bracket area at the cross member during the SS700 trans install back in December, '12.
That 2nd pic shows the parking rod installed upside down in order to give clearance to the H-pipe exhaust on my car. That bracketry Keisler provided to replace the factory "boomerang" bracket which was mounted on the front side of the crossmember had to be removed as it interfered with range of motion of the parking brake lever. Found I did not need that bracket as my H-pipe keeps my pipes rigid as they pass through the holy crossmember.
