Default What colour is this C1

What is this colour? Is it Sebring Silver? What are the paint codes? Does any one have any more pictures of this Vette (apart from same from rear .... which I already have ...... from another thread). Or another C1 with same or similar colour? I just love the colour combination!!

Maybe its the ashes of the deceased... effecting the color.

Thanks Bill,

Found the original thread with lots of photos: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1s-...-corvette.html

Also, it appears that 1958 Inca silver is different than other year Inca Silvers.

Thanks to that fantastic paint ref page this is what I came up with:

1958 Inca Silver - WA2608 (GM) 31425 (PPG) 2436L (Dupont)
1959 Inca Silver - WA2659 (GM) 31928 (PPg) 4023L (Dupont)
1960 Sateen Silver - WA2659
1961 Sateen Silver - WA2659
1962 Sateen Silver - WA2659
1963 Sebring silver - WA3150

So must be a slight difference between 58 silver and later C1 silvers - Looks to be a lighter silver.

Got that Mike, those codes are from Bill's chart as per 'paintref' link. I guess having no paint code on the trim tag ........ any original colour you repaint your C1 can be called original because there is no way of proving other wise.

I did ask on that thread (sent a pm to originator) about the colour but didn't get back to me.

That's why I left the 58 year old paint in the trunk area behind the board alone (original) to prove it was a copper color 55

Michael,

I do not think it is Sateen Silver which is a bit more gray than silver

That looks more like the Sebring Silver on my 95

My 61 (below) is Sateen Silver (newer paint matches original in trunk and behind seats closely)

What's the difference in the Inca Silver between 58 and 59? Joe, your Sateen Silver is the same paint code as the 59 Inca which became Sateen ........... so is the 58 Inca more silver ...... more like Sebring???

There were only 65 cars painted Inca Silver in 1957

Similar...
...but you can't see the stock Al Knoch leather black interior.
It has quite a bit more metallic content than stock colors...It is Mercedes Crystal Laurit Silver metallic. The car is totally unstock to include a Corvette Correction chassis and many other mods.
Also...the red carpet enhances the other photo/car quite a lot..
