Default 67 restomod

This is the first Vette I've ever owned. I bought it back in Aug 2011. After driving it around a few months I dropped it off at SRIII for a "just a few" upgrades. After what seems like forever, including changing my mind a number of times, the pieces are finally starting to come together. Today I got a picture of the custom valve covers I had made which will cover the coil packs on my LS3. These took forever to get but I think it was worth the wait!

I have no idea who made them to be honest. I wanted something different. I was told my guy knows a guy when I brought up the idea of what I was looking for almost a year ago...these turned out to be exactly what I was thinking. They are one of a kind. Here is a picture of the LS3 they will go on...It isn't complete, some details left to finish, but you get the idea. Should be on the dyno in the next few weeks...hopefully.

Default 67 restomod update

Here is an update on my project. The motor was put on the dyno last week and the numbers..567HP @ 6340rpm. Torque peaked @ 518 @ 4650. The torque curve starts @ 400@2000rpm and pulled to 500lbs to 5800rpm. I will post the dyno results when I can. Here are some more pics. The fittings still need to be finished. Any blue fitting you see will be polished/plated/anodized, whatever, to blend in with the fittings and braided stainless lines. In the mean time here are some updated pictures of the motor. Mike at SRIII is also doing all my body work and it looks fantastic! We did some modifying of the wheel wells inside the engine compartment to fill the void between his frame and the wheel wells. He also tubbed out the rear wheel wells to accept the 285 wide tires I am using so we didn't have to modify the rear quarters. He notched them as well so the top will fold into the stock position. I will post some of those pictures shortly too.

Beautiful! I love the stacks. What harness and computer system are you running.
Glad to see you got the lower profile horns. At first I thought you were going to have them sticking out the hood.

Thanks, I really wanted to give it an old school look. I like the lower profile too. The stacks in the first picture were 5" they are 2.5" now. I plan on keeping the body as stock as possible. The only changes will be on the inside like the wheel wells. I'm also going to open up the hood scoop to feed those stacks! The interior will have a few changes, c5 seats (w/ shaved headrests) & upgraded gauges (still undecided there). I'm using a MSD ignition system, FAST programming ECM & FAST programming harness.

Here are some more pictures of my project. I'll start from the beginning and show the progress. Originally it was a 327/350 4sp w/ posi 3:36 gears & power steering (No power breaks!) Elkhart Blue w/ teal interior (Black leather when I got). The original motor was long gone and replaced by a 350 small block. The speedometer was broken so no telling how many miles. The inside of the car had a very bad musty smell which made it difficult to sit in the car a very long time w/ the top up.

Here it is the day I dropped it off at SRIII

Mama mia is right! And your car looks great, even before the surgery. Hard to imagine that car smelled musty.
Which suspension is Mike installing?

As the interior comes out you can see the craftsmanship of the previous person who worked on the car...Note the metal plate that runs behind the seats, its rivited on one side and fiberglassed in place on the other. The body isn't sound enough to separte from the chassis otherwise it may snap in half.
