Default 1959 VIN Question

Does the VIN number show anywhere on the car other than on the VIN plate?

The vin number is also stamped on top of the frame in the area of your wallet (drivers side) if you were sitting in the car.

and if you carry your wallet in your left hip pocket...
Its in a tough spot to see and visibility varies from car to car with the body on the frame. Some have found it with a mirror and flashlight....there is no way you can see mine that way (a '61)..

on a 61 loosen rear body mounts carefully raise about 2" and reach up and sand the top of frame ( not easy but do-able ) Use a samll mirror and take pictures using the mirror. Amazing what the camera shows ( once on your computer ) that you can't see with your eyes. I did mine and have clear pictures. I had to sand with emery cloth hard to get them. but overall not a long job.

FYI - the body mount bolts are probably rusted so bad that they will difficult to remove without soaking them in a lubricant for a few days. You run the risk of twisting off the bolts if you don't prep them first.
