Tachometer conversion to 8000 rpm?
I was wondering if anyone does a higher 8000 rpm tach rebuild and silk screening? I have the 200mph converson on a 1965 speedo, and want to bump a tach also. Basically I have a 1964 and they would not do the 200mph speedo conversion on a 1963/1964, so I bought both a 1965 speedo/tachometer and would like to get a custom 1965 tachometer done to match with a higher rpm and redline range.

Melting Slicks
I'd try Bill Harrison who has done this with custom dials for others:

Thanks for the replies
I have a tach drive MSD distributor unit, but unhook the tach drive when racing and connect up the Autometer unit. Thus I looked to see how I can get a vintage Corvette Tachometer in the operating ranges of my engine. I bought a 5" Bowtie tach to put in the gauge hole, and had planned to eliminate having the Autometer unit bolted to my non used speaker location. I am rethinking whether I want this modern unit sitting as the only odd gauge in the cluster.
I checked out Corvette Specialties and they have an electronic conversion to a stock tach. I think they send it out to Roger's. I will check out Harrison.
What I am thinking about trying is to use a company I found called RSGaugeworks who can custom silk screen. Give them the stock tach face and the Autometer 5" spacing and positioning and then mate the GM Bowtie Electronic unit (8000 rpm) to the backside of a stock type tach face with custom silk screening.
I don't want to ruin my original 64 units (speedo and tach). But if I can find good units cheap, I might just try that to a set of those. But I have the 1965-67 200mph done already. Thus hate to throw out money!
