Intake Manifold date code versus car build date

Intake Manifold date code versus car build date
For a C2 what would be the correct build date of an intake manifold in relation to the build date of the car and of the block?
For example, say the car was built on September 6, 1963...
Would an intake Manifold with a build date of September 4, 1963 be right per NCRS? Or is that too close to car build date so the engine would have already been all together only two days before cars build date? Let's say the engine block was dated a week or so prior to car build date.
So again, just wondering what is the least amount of days that would be right for the manifold date in relation to the car build date and To the date of the block?
And, does that change depending on the C2 model year?

It should be within two or three weeks of the engine build date

Our '64 was built very close to yours - around September 10, 1963. The intake on our car is dated F283 - June 28, 1963. The engine assembly date stamped on the pad is August 21, 1963. This is a 300 horse engine.
Hope this helps.

I have a '61 head dated one day before my engine build date (283ci); JohnZ verified that this was unusual but could happen. There were 10's of thousands of castings shipped between GM facilities daily. He may have similar background info for C2s - I'm betting your intake is correct and prob original.

Nope. After being cast at Saginaw (if iron) or at Winters (if aluminum), intakes had to be shipped to Flint V-8 for machining, then assembled to the engine, and the engine had to be completed, racked, loaded in a rail car, shipped by rail to St. Louis, unloaded, and either taken directly to the line or placed in line-side storage across the aisle. All of this took time. There's no way an intake cast on September 4th could end up at St. Louis on an engine two days later.
