Looks and sounds great Chris. I wish I could have made that run to Alabama before you ship off to Dallas. Best of luck with the sale.
This car is a perfect example of why the restored modified market for Corvettes needs to exist and how it benefits the hobby.

I'm sorry you couldn't make it as well! I wish my timeline had been better so you would have had more time to schedule a trip.
Just FYI for anybody else building a restomod, install a power steering cooler!!! I had to add one today and it was a pain the ****. Would have been really easy to install before all other components were on, but not with the hood installed, etc.
The fluid heats up too much without the cooler and loses its viscosity, which leads to really hard, jerky steering. I didn't have this problem with the last car presumably because I was using a hydroboost system and the system contained more fluid which preventing it from heating up as much.

Why do restomods in particular need a PS cooler?

This engine runs the same temperature as any other, around 180-190. I don't think a cam difference would make the engine hotter....that is the only difference between the 430, 480 and 525hp GM LS crate engines.

Chris,
The car looks great!
Best of luck this Saturday at the auction...
I know your rack is different, but I changed both the flow and pressure of my pump and don't have any issues without a cooler.. I guess, being "reduced", maybe my pump isn't working as hard and therefore not making as much heat? I changed things based on info of working with the Ford rack and how, without the changes, things would be very "twitchy"..
Have a great week!

I watched the auction live.
It opened at 100k, and went to 175k very quickly.
It did not sell on the block but as it was leaving the auctioneer said, it will take 220k to buy it, "the bid goes on".
I hope one of the bidders met with the seller and wish him luck in closing the deal.

Last night at Mecum I cant believe that this SWC went for 55,000 they said on air that the buyer really got a good deal. it was the second Split window to sell think it was 102 .Something must have been wrong on this car we cant see. looking at live auction I could see body work behind head light I thought.

There was no money or action at this auction. The set up was terrible and everything was disorganized. This will be the last mecum auction I attend as a seller.
The split window above was beyond rough. The paint was scratched all over, it was missing parts, and the engine looked really rough.

Kissimmee Fla. and that's the way it was there.
I would run the car on eBay just to get it out there and let people see what you have done then take it to Barrett Jackson .

Had to double-check dates on this Dallas auction. I thought it was 2009 and everyone was broke. Seemed like every other vehicle went to "the bid goes on" and most of the ones that sold had no more bids after "reserve is off" was announced.

The lighting was brutal in that place! I've had cars under large fluorescents before, but wow, those lights made every little scratch, haze, and slight imperfection show up!

Thanks! Sorry if i missed you there! I tried to be around the car as much as possible, but had to take breaks from talking every once in a while.
