Default QTR Trim/Sill Carpet Transition

Does anyone have pictures of the area where the rear and front interior quarter trim panels/carpet transition to the door sill plate?
This is for a 63 coupe.

This carpet which is cut and bound really seems to require a lot of trim/cut fit work to fit really nice. I wasn't expecting that and it's taking me forever. Fortunately it's more than enough carpet rather than not quite enough.

Here are those areas on a '65 coupe (Dave Zuberer photo).

Original 1963 Carpet.
Is this the area you are asking about?

Default Rich

Yes Rich that is the area of concern and the pix helps!

Do you have the front transition for 63?

The 65 pixs looks like it has an extra pinchwelt next to the carpet bonding.

Front area.
This is original carpet, 50 years old.

Thanks Rich, That shows how to clean up the edge.

Now I can't find that edging next to the metal strip in the LICorvette parts manual.

That strip came attached to the kick panel on my Al Knoch carpets.

That foam filled edging came attached to the kick panel on my Al Knoch carpets.

I got my carpet kit from Al Knock also, but unlike yours and John's 65 pix mine is unbound along that edge.

I guess the metal strip alone is supposed to cover that edge? I like that foam roll on that edge though.

Thanks for the pix guys!

Well, I found that roll that goes on the edge. It's called WINLAS and I found it on DOC-Rebuild's site.

I also found hard board sold there also...is there supposed to be a piece of hard board under the kick panel carpet?

My issue here is that I didn't have a lot of the original parts as this car was kinda butchered together when I got it. It looked good but I am amazed at how many actual pieces are missing and now I'm trying to identify them.

The car will not be "original" but at least all the right pieces will be there.

Actually, it's "windlace". Yes, there's an attached piece of foundation board that defines the size and shape of the kickpad carpet; without it, the piece of carpet would just hang there.
