Default Bloomington Gold Update....

Here's today's, Wednesday, local paper front page headline...

The headline refers not only to the Bloomington Gold event, but downtown that weekend the city is hosting a Blues music festival. The two events are so far away from one another, over a mile that except for heavy traffic on local streets it shouldn't be a real problem for us. Saturday night, Corvettes are getting priority parking for the music festival downtown.

We're only 2 days away. Be there or be square.

Thanks for posting the articles Thomas. I'm just hoping the rain stays away now.

Unfortunately it looks like I now have to miss this. Biz meetings popped up for Thurs/Friday...Not driving 515 miles for 1 day and turn around and drive back.

Thomas, I'll look you up next time I am up there. Was just there for father's day but had no extra time...

Dennis, I was going to Bloomington Gold when it first started in Bloomington, IL at the McLean County Fair Grounds in the mid 1970's. But this will be the first Bloomington Gold show I've been able to attend in my very own Corvette, and it's just 20 minutes away. A true dream come true for me. Am I excited, oh yeah, just ask Chris. Sorry I'm miss you at this one.

Friday weather looks fantastic with pleasant temps all 3 days. Sat and Sun just a 40% chance of showers, that's less than a 50- 50 shot so I'm thinking it'll be fine. The weather service has been putting rain in and out of the forecast all week so it's really not a strong possiblity it would seem. Al Knoch is installing a new top on my car at the show so maybe I'll get to try it out. How's that for looking on the bright side.

Ever optimistic Thomas

Thanks Thomas I'll try to stay optimistic. You're going to love the new top but if you're like me you won't want to fold it up.

Wouldnt be BG without some rain. At the Fairgrouds there was always straw out covering up the puddles. We used to bring a case of cheap Chevy logo rain ponchos and hold them until the rain started, then break them out when people came to our indoor swap space to keep from getting wet. Always sold out.
