Default 58 - Holes for side trim question

My car is missing some of the holes on the side trim and I created a post a while back asking where are the holes located. Now that I'm at a point of getting ready to drill the holes, can someone tell me if the holes should be right on the crease or off to the side?

Some of mine are on the crease and some of mine aren't (see pic below). The first picture is of the fender molding, the second is a hole in the door cove molding.

Thanks...looks like when I drill out some of the holes that have been filled in, I will have 11.

From a previous post on the location of the holes on the front stainless, I got the following information. My holes are not in these locations and considering that they should be drilled on the crease, maybe I'll probably fill them with bondo and drill them where they should be.
The measurements that someone gave to me from that post were the following...(starting from the gap at the door).

2”
8 ½
16 ½
24 ¼
31 ¾
39 ½
46

And the two bottom locations were measured from the lower edge
5 ½
1 ¼

Is that 10" straight up from the upper edge and straight across?

Right click my picture(s); perform "Save Image"....give the file a name and save it. Then go to the image file; right click and select "Open With"....select "Paint" and that should pull the image into Microsoft Paint. Then select the "ReSize" menu option and you can make the image as large as you like.

Don't use bondo unless you want the rogue holes to print back through the paint some day...

Hey Frank....Thanks for the info...I thought you could some how blow them up in the Forum.

I use a short-strand fiberglass bondo which is stronger and holds up better than regular bondo and I think I should be safe as I believe the majority of them will be hidden behind the trim itself. I also will flare out the ends so there isn't such an edge.

I couldn't get your picture to "blow up" and be clear. When you load a picture on the Forum, the resolution is what it is. The only way you can zoom in is if you send me the file directly.

In regards to the AIM on the side molding...I see "X"'s....but no legend to explain what the "X" stands for.

Something interesting....

I laid my molding against my car with a "T-Bolt" and I noticed that the crease isn't centered on the stainless and the T-Bolt is slightly below the crease (see picture). So, from this, it appears the hole should be slightly below the crease.

That is from the upper edge to the hole in a straight line. It should be between the holes you have at 46 and 5-1/2.

There is a small note in the AIM stating what the X is for. It denotes a particular trim clip which uses a fender washer; there are two types of clips. You can PM me an email address if you want full Rez pics.

Thanks....I thought they all took washers. I'm familiar with the different clips.

I have been having a HELL of a time getting my passenger side trim to fit...after 2 hours...I found out the trim is about 1/2" short!! Go figure.

I had no idea they were rubber. The repro passenger side fender cove molding is a poor fit. Lots of posts here about it.

The rubber washers are to prevent water and crud being splashed around inside the wheel well from leaking through the fasteners and onto the exterior paint.
