RUN, don't walk, and don't argue too much about the price, just buy the damn thing!

Thanks for the advice everybody. A friend of mine and I are going to go into it together and put about 5k in it afterwards. With us doing all the labor ourselves we should end up with a pretty nice little 64. Keep it for a little while (let the mom drive it to work a couple times) then sell it. Thanks again!

Well I would but I was just told about the car today and I wasn't lead to believe he's actively trying to sell the car so I think I can wait for the weekend. If it's gone it's gone and I learned my lesson . Hopefully that's not the case.

Ok I have just found out about a red/red 1964 Corvette. 327 4 speed, original owner, for sale near me. I'm not sure how many miles are on the car and the owner did say it probably needed a new paint job and a new interior. He claims it runs and I would probably be able to drive the car home. He's asking 12k for the car but I'm guessing he's got some wiggle room in there and I could probably get it for 10.5 or so. After some enjoyment out of the car I'll probably flip it. Should I go for it?

Good luck and I hope it works out well. Just remember, people are really funny once they get it in their mind to sell a car they've had for a long time - especially one priced as seemingly aggressive as this one...He's going to let it go to the first one with a little cash deposit in hand...
I hope we get to see some great photos soon!!

You guys are terrible. Tell Gobot the truth. He’ll have 40K in it by the time he’s almost happy with it. And it still won’t be a frame-off restoration. This is one of those cars that will very quickly suck you under. He stated up front that it needed paint and interior. If it needs that, you know it needs a top also. You know that those three items will be more than what he’s giving for the car. Something that should be considered is whether or not it is an un-hit body. If it isn’t, I would walk away. He’s already said that he’s interested in a quick flip. This is ’64. His best profit will come from getting it to move down the road safely and pass state inspection. After that everything will have a diminishing return.

Well after receiving a few pictures of the car I still think it's worth it. The car is currently being driven so i have to assume it passed it's last inspection because I could see it didn't have historic plates. I have no intention of doing a complete restoration and it will by no means be a show piece. Just something decent to look at that will be fun to drive on the weekend for someone. The hard top seems to be the best part about the car so I don't have to worry about that.

I would still go for it for that price. 65 big block hood looks better anyway. if you don't want to keep it I would clean it up and then flip it. I would price it in the mid 20's

Hard to tell but in the second pic that pillar doesn't look too good. If I were you I'd be checking real good for rust in the bird cage and frame.
