Post it stolen on all of the craigslist auto sections stolen vehicle. I am sure people would leave the ad alone or at least it would give someone a chance to call you if they do see it. Sorry again!

The OP should expect the same amount of effort from law enforcement as they would show for a reported jaywalker or shoplifter. Seriously, unless it's a violent crime, the priority level is ZERO. They figure "let the insurance co.'s figure it out".
Any effort to solve this will be done by the owner, not a LEO.

Yep, sometimes a new 80k Lexus or Mercedes disappears and they flip a switch, police track it to the ports of southern CA in a big metal crane on its way to China. There's always a few guys standing around like Another time there was a hit and run involving a Mercedes Benz that had a lot of damage. MB helped police find the car but they didn't want to.

Thanks for the messages guys!
The word is definitely getting out there. I'm getting lots of calls, but they are calls of support rather than any leads. None the less, the support calls are greatly appreciated!

Scotty McG. was placing calls to everyone this morning helping to spread the word. He called me, of course.
My heart felt advice is to set your expectations very low so you can be pleasantly surprised if this has a good outcome.

Don't totally discount the LEO aspect during your car search- lots of car guys out there in the LEO world (I should know)
If you develop a good contact at their department, ask them if there are any officers that are active in a local car club or have friends who operate local auto shops - if there are, contact them and ask them to help get the word out there for you - you may be surprised at the help you actually get.
If this were my car, I'd make a small (playing card size) photo flyer of the car and info and get them to the local shops, clubs, and LEO's by the hundereds.
I wish I were closer to help you in the search...Good luck and I hope you get her back!!

I believe a rare red '61 Impala convertible was also stolen on Saturday right out of the gated Russo & Steele lot.
I was standing there when a security guard was telling 2 uniforms about it.
Related?
Update:
Here it is:

LEO's should have it pointed out that there were similar thefts around the same time. Believe it or not, they will look for both of them.
Best of luck.

Happier ending: I got it back.
I hope you get the '62 back too, Pat. Good luck.

If you make a flyer to pass around, include a decent reward $$ on it and be sure to let them know they'll remain annonymous if the information leads to the car. A bit of money can go a long way, since you can probably assume the thiefs are druggies and there's no loyalty there!
Have you thought about posting the information on Craigslist and stating there's a reward?? You'll get a lot of idiots contacting you, but the right person could be out there too...

1962 Corvette Stolen in Pacific Grove on 16 Aug and 2.4 miles away about 1 hour later a 1961 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport (SS) 409 was also stolen.
My bet is a professional car theft ring and both of these cars will end up overseas in someones collection.
Just sucks all around.
