Introduction and My new 67
Hey Everyone
I have been lurking and absorbing info here for a few months! Yesterday my "New to Me" 1967 Corvette Convertible was delivered to me. I thought I would introduce myself and share photos and info about the car.
Its an older restoration. It has extensive documentation of the restoration. I have the Tank sticker in great condition. From that I can tell it's the Original Color. PO has added Side Exhaust and a Big block hood.
NOM 327 built to 350hp specs. It is a Base Model Engine/Transmission car. So it has a 3 Speed. I am finding thru different sources on the web, the 3 Speed is not very desirable, but according to the Noland Adams Vol.2 technical guide they only made 424 cars with 3 Speeds. I don't know how many of those were convertibles, or if I can even find that out. I love this Car! It's the second Corvette I have owned and I am excited to drive the wheels off it! I have Decode the Vin and Trim Tag. I am posting them with the photos. I know from studying this forum that there are some very knowledgable Corvette enthusiasts here! If any one can add any info. Please Do!

xoft,
WELCOME and congratulations on this find. The car looks GREAT! You do have my curiosity on this factory 3-speed. Can you take a close-up picture of the console showing the shifting diagram. Kinda' neat! Yup, 3-speeds are rare, but not necessarily desirable. Regardless, just a neat car. Love that, I think, Butternut Yellow right name?
Again, enjoy and drive her!!

Congratulations on the purchase and welcome to the forum. That's a great looking car. Great color combination.

Awesome looking car with the redlines on a Sunfire Yellow roadster!
As for the 3-speed, if you are fine with it then you're happy and you've got yourself a conversation piece; if you want to swap in a 4-speed M20 or M21 it can be done without too much fuss - you're already in NOM land so losing the original 3-speed won't hurt the value, might actually bump it up.
(By the way, I could't help myself - June 21, 1967 rolling off the assembly line "birthday"; June 9 body build date.)

Welcome to the club!
For years, I had a photo of a 67 with the same color scheme, hanging in my garage. It took about 20 years and 5 other Corvettes before I finely found my red 67.

Great color combo! I think it actually may be the first time I saw a mid year with a three speed. Have a friend that has a three speed 65 Mustang and another friend restoring a 70 GTO convertible with a three speed. Not seen often but makes for a good conversation piece.

My 4 Speed option!
It actually came with a freshly rebuilt M20! I may install it just for shifting fun! It looks like it has a little deeper 1st gear. Fun Launches!

well, you are already there - and it looks like you've got a Hurst Competion Plus shifter on there too, all the better for rowing through those gears (and hell yeah, a proper 1st gear is a must for launches that tickle the side pipes!)

Well, at least you won't be having any internal debates about mod vs original - do whatever you'd like. I was going to suggest putting a 5 speed in there until I saw you had the 4 speed. If it were my car, I would do the 5 speed anyway and sell the 4 speed, but whatever floats your boat. Keep us posted on what you do.
Great looking car!

Sunflower yellow with black and white interior. That's a great combo. I am not sure what the big fuss is about not having a 4 speed. I drive my 4 speed using 2-3 gears.
