What would be the best way of removing the gasket off the manifold without damaging the the the aluminum. Thank you

I use a slightly dull scraper on my aluminum manifold and valve covers to remove old gasket material. With a little care there should be no damage. Tough spots may require a slightly sharper tool but again, a little care and its not a problem.
