The car has been found, it was part of a court case where they would buy small block cars and convert them to matching numbers fully documented big block cars. Here is the thread.

Found VIN plate
I'm not sure where to post this so I'll try here & hopefully one of the moderators will assist. I had bought a box of C3 parts from a friend about 35 years ago for one of my builds, while going through the box recently, a VIN plate fell out as I was tearing up the box for the trash, I tried contacting the friend who sold me the stuff & I learned that he had died, the VIN plate is for an early 63 convertible, if I can find who the owner is, I will send it to him for the cost of registered mail only, but that person must be able to prove he does in fact own this car, I welcome any inqueries or suggestions in trying to return this to its current owner. After all these years I am doubtful if the car or the owner can be found, but I am taking this opportunity to try to find the owner of this important identification piece. As a retired Deputy Sheriff officer, I am well aware of how these items are misused by car thieves, therefore I will not sell it and if after sufficient time I cannot find the legal owner of this part, it will be turned over to the state police in my state for proper disposal.

1956 Vin E56S004219 Bill of Sale
I am restoring a couple of C3s and my 92-year old neighbor gave me some paperwork for a few Corvettes she had over the years. I have her original bill of sale from her 1956 and 1969 Corvettes.
The C1 was black with a hard top and auto trans. Total price out the door was $4,038.85!
I will have to ask her permission, but I'm pretty sure she would love to get the paperwork to the current owner.

1956 Corvette VIN plate for E56S003736
Many years ago my brother and I owned a project 1956 Corvette that was all in pieces. The car had been hit fairly hard in front. I sold what was a body and frame and a few boxes of parts in about 1982. I thought the VIN plate had gone with it, but my brother has informed me that he still has it. If this car is back on the road it's undoubtedly been assigned a new VIN now, but we thought we'd try to return the VIN to the car if it can be found and the frame stamp can be read.
It is for E56S003736. It's not in the C1 Registry.

'66 427 block
While at the local machine shop yesterday, I spotted a 427 block. According the owner of the machine shop, the prior shop owner hoarded parts and this 427 block was tucked away in a corner for years. While cleaning up the storage area, the new owner “found” the block. He cleaned it up and magnafluxed it….no cracks. The owner of the shop is interested in selling the block. I have no idea what he wants for it. The block is located at Lou’s M&B Machine Shop (formerly M&B Automotive Machine Shop) in Stamford, CT. Lou’s phone number is (203) 348-6134. Lou runs a solo shop, so you may have to call a few times before he will pick up.
Note: the VIN derivative on the pad appears to be 6126484.
