Default 327/350

Let me throw this out for feed back. I've decided to equip my 62 with a 327. Unfortunately a new 327 block is not out there. So here is my thought. A new GM Performance 350 bare block with a 327 balanced rotating assembly. Same 4" bore, shorter stroke, and a 4 bolt main upgrade. What am I not foreseeing in the possible build?

Thanks in advance

It'd be helpful if you'd tell the peanut gallery what you're trying to accomplish and what your objectives are along with your budget.

What I am hoping to end up with is a 327 with 365+ hp. Old school high reving screamer. I've owned and loved my 59/220 hp 283 and I wasn't impressed with my 66 sb.

My budget is best described in time not cost. If it takes a couple of years to buy all the components that's fine. With age comes patience.

Thanks again

I'm not into the hot rod parts but there are new 4" (and bigger) bore blocks available from several sources. Not sure what your fetish is with "new" but if that's your thing, go for it.

Also I don't know why a small journal, two bolt main, used block wouldn't suffice for your needs but I'll leave it to the hot rod types to advise.
