Default FOUND IN SHED 55-56 Heads

Found some old Corvette heads in a shed we were cleaning out. They have valve covers and exhaust manifolds with them. The numbers on one of them are 3703523 which comes up as a 265cid out of a 55 vette.
The numbers on the other are 3725306 which comes up as a 265cid out of a 56 vette. Numbers on the exhaust manifolds from what I can tell are 3836963 and 3837068
They are dirty but look to be in good shape, no cracks that I can see. I took them to a machine shop to get them cleaned up and checked out but he was going to charge me 200 bucks and I don't even know if they are worth that. Anyone know if they are worth at least that OR is anyone here looking for any of those parts?

I have a nice matching set of 55 heads....I've given them names as they have been for sale several times without a bite....cheap, and are now like pet rocks.

I'm sure someone would kill for those heads but good luck finding that buyer.

Neither of those heads is unique to Corvettes. Both had applications in passenger cars also.

They are pretty rare, same ones as on my 56 Chev pass car power pack 265, but even rarer, are potential buyers for them. You might try the Tri-Five Chevy forum for any interest as well. Good luck.

All 1955 V-8 engines used the 523 head, two barrel, four barrel, didn't matter, one head for 1955 V-8.

The 56 306 head is used on most 56 four barrel engines. I say most because there is some question about what head was used on late 56 Corvette single four barrel engines. The 306 head was used on early Corvette single four barrel engines, and possibly on all Corvette single four barrel heads.

A mismatched pair of heads detracts from the value. Your market is to someone that needs one head.

I would sell them separately.

They are not rare or exceptionally valuable. Check Ebay for completed sales to get an idea what they are worth.
