Default Restomod Wheel Choices

OK so I searched the site to check out others choices and most are dated so I thought I'd ask for current choices & or projects to "show me their wheels"

I'm needing to order some for my 62 restomod and am thinking of the Halibrand style wheels. If I could figure out how to attach a picture I would LOL.....

My car will be sitting low and will be able to run old school wheels with some dish vs the new style wagon wheels......

Running disc brakes on all 4 wheels prob need 17"

Suggestions on finish, one piece vs 2 piece wheel, and favorites....

Anyway whats people running?

Whot is suspension standed lowered or coil overs drop spindles etc. I have stock suspension lowered and have 7-17 front 7- 18 rear tried bilstien shocks all round and 215 45 17 front and 225 45 18 rear ride was terrible removed rear bilstiens and fitted air shocks and 215 55 18 rear and 215 55 17 front and ride is great. Rember you need a side wall that moves to have a nice ride in old cars go for as much prifle as you can.

It's all a matter of personal taste. I'm old school. Wheels should have five solid, straight radius spokes and not be too deeply dished. Black wheels are verboten.

That pretty well leaves Cragar S/S or something that looks like them, or Torq Thrust of one style or another. Otherwise you'll end up with a C1 pimpmobile. Who the heck needs that?

Go for something retro. The later styles (especially with rubber band tires) look like hell on an old Vette.

Take a look at www.vintagewheelworks.com They have some nice styles and are well built.

One of the better Halibrand copies would be the "Salt Flats" wheel, I forget the manufacturer but your speed shop or hip tire store will know.

Here's a less costly 17" wheel alternative to the EVOD wheels. Saw these listed in this month's Super Chevy magazine in their SEMA product review section.

http://circleracing.com/117.htm

Still not cheap at $600 each, but compare to the EVOD wheels at twice as much at $4950:
