Default 58 restomod

On Sep 25th, my wife and I went to Austin Arkansas to pick up a 58 junk pile. Very rough car, no motor transmission, rusty frame, and hardly any useable parts. I ordered a frame, engine, transmission, and a million parts the following week, and took the chrome to be done. I just got back from the first shake out run, and it is fabulous. I'm going to post it for sale for a couple of weeks, and if it doesn't go, then it will be in the auction in Jan (Mecum). I thought you guys might like to see it....There are a few small things to be done. It has a new LS3, Tremec 6 speed, hydraulic clutch, corvette correction chassis, power hood and trunk (that's the only way you can lift those 17 pound trunk irons), etc.

I was with Mike at Old Town a few short months ago the night he first heard about this car. A true "ugly duckling" to "swan" story. I've seen it a short time ago in his shop. It's impeccable (as usual).

I particularly like the ox blood interior and the retro look to the gauge cluster. Never was a big fan of the light up, numerical, digital gauges in C1s. -- the analog dials with new technology are just the right touch IMO.

Mike
Congratulations on your latest masterpiece - she's a beauty! I wouldn't be surprised if it gets sold before MECUM.
Enjoy driving her now before it's gone.
If you have more pictures, show them please.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks guys. I changed all the pictures in the original post. These are taken with better light, and show the gauges lit, and the paint close up. Jeff, I didn't take any pictures during the build....... I'm gonna call this color "bass boat silver" LOL

That's 3 months while taking time out to help me out on my SWC more than once -- including painting my interior trim and re-dying my dash

Positively love the gauges...the "dark side" keeps calling to me
