Default Need Correct 67 A/C Big Block Fan Blade

Hello,
I am looking for the correct 67 A/C Big Block Fan Blade. I am a bit confused about which is the correct one. Is it a 5 or 7 blade fan. There is an ad on Ebay #170850781319. The fan #3955182. Is this the correct one? If not, can someone please post a photo of the correct one. Please let me know before I spend my money. All replies will be greatly appreciated.

you need a 5 blade fan. the one on Ebay is from a 68+ car and was used on mid years for warranty replacements

That's not the one you want. The big-block fan (used with or without A/C) was P/N 3888366, 5 blades, 17-1/2" diameter, arrowhead-shaped arms with five flat head rivets per blade; each blade is 4" wide x 5.68" long. The front side of the center has an "H" stamped on it, and there's a "W" stamped on the rear side.

ALL 67's used 5-bladed fans - there were no 7-blade '67 fans.

Just a random question and I'm sure there is some engineering reason, but why isn't the fan blade symmetrical? Meaning why aren't the blades spaced out evenly?

If the blades were equally spaced, it would set up harmonics that produce a much higher level of fan noise; placing them in that unequal fashion moves the same amount of air, but with far less noise.

Hello John,
Thanks you very much. I have one like your picture (with the "H" stamp). I am going to print this post and put it in my 63-67 binder. You saved me over $400.

I have always wondered about that too. Thanks to JohnZ for the explanation.
