Default C1 Rear Brake drum noise in reverse

When backing up my '57 occasionally, I will get a loud squeal from one of the rear brakes when I apply the pedal. I have had the drums off and have put a little brake grease on the edges of the shoes. That has eliminated the noise for a while but it comes back sometimes.
I assume the drum is contacting the shoe but it only does it in reverse.
Any ideas?

Check for grooves in the backing plates. You couls also have a worn anchor pin. Sounds like things are shifting around and binding.
Might it also be your auto adjuster? (if that car has one...)

You might check your brake shoe return springs. Bubba might have put too big of springs on and their rubbing against the drums inner facing. That's what some did to mine. Look on the drum inner facing for scratches.

This is good, general purpose advice for tracking down odd noises.... stated more broadly: Look for clean, shiny metal where there shouldn't be any and you've found a clue to what's going on.
