Default Jack cover board 1963

What would you do??? My board has three holes cut in it for speakers. It is an original board. Has three holes cut in it for speakers which they screwed up the decals. Would you just carpet over them,Patch them with pressboard or just make a new one????

I would buy a new one and put the proper decals and labels on it, and then carpet the topside.

For more originality, you can probably find a good used one for sale………but unless this really matters, I would just buy (or make) new.

Make or buy a new one - by the time you are done patching the old one it'll cost the same, take more time and still not be original...

That's one area I haven't gotten in to on my SWC...the jack needs to be restored but it appears original... I haven't even looked under that cover to check for decals yet.

Zip has the correct size board for '63 for about $32, part # I-2715

No need to ask us....you probably know your options, replace or make a new one adding the correct style decals. It's really not that big of deal.

I had the same problem on my '66 jackboard...

...the original is shown on top and the replacement on bottom. The original had two nice speaker holes plus it was hacked into the jacking instructions decal.

I replaced the board, carpet and decals and installed the decals as close as I could to where the original decals had been. Probably not NCRS correct on placement but that's where the originals were, hard to argue with that. I did keep the original jackboard.

If you decide to make one Home Depot has the masonite material in 'handy panel' size. About 5 bucks. .
