Default DeWitt radiator

Would like to take advantage of the DeWitts radiator sale, and would like your thoughts on the one with the electric fan. I have read the positive posts on their fine products, but am looking for feedback.

I am replacing the original one in my '62. It currently has a '68 327 in it, with stock fan. Does the electric fan move more air than the stock fan? Will the new radiator alone provide sufficient cooling (which I wasn't getting with my deteriorating original radiator)?

What model do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

I just got one for a 67 BB...and they are aluminum or copper...I got the aluminum one....I read all the specs and consulted w/ the forum member before i moved on it....exact fit..maybe some C-1 members can quote you on there experience and confirm or not the use of the aux fan...
I think mine was 495$

Purchased a replacement radiator with fan and controls from Dewitts and the thing works perfect. Only one model with the fan installed on the radiator for 62 so just ask for the one you want and if you have an automatic Dewitts will install the trans cooler for nothing, at lest they did for me. The fan needs 18 amps to run and 30 for start up. This fan moves a lot of air and is a little noisy but cools nice. I installed a manual switch as well as the auto on at 185* and off at 165*. The whole kit comes to you ready to install. If you still have a generator you may be close to its limit when you have all your lights on, Do not use power that runs thru the amp gauge, run a dedicated power source from the starter post to the fan relay. your old amp gauge was not built to handle this kind of constant power usage . Good luck

I have the direct fit Model 1139061M. I like it. It kept the car running at a good temperature. It did get hot went the clutch fan did not work. Switched out clutch fans and now no problems. Lined up perfectly with the core support.

It truly is a direct fit when it comes to the installation.

I put a Direct Fit in my '60 a little over 10 years ago, and haven't had any problems. I run a mild 350 engine with Tuned Port Injection. I bought mine before they were available with the shroud and fan. I use the stock shroud and a clutch fan, and I have not had any cooling problems at all. I highly recommend Dewitt's radiators.

6 or 7 years ago I bought an aluminum replacement for my original top fill 1960 radiator. It looks exactly like the original and fits the same. I use the stock shroud with a clutch fan. It cools my stock rebuilt 283 perfectly. I spoke with Tom directly on the phone. He is a really nice guy and a pleasure to talk to..... So call and ask him!

Thanks-I did contact them through their website and am waiting for a reply.

Sure is great to have advertisers with products the customers rave about!

I put my new DeWitt radiator in about 5 years ago. Runs nice and cool.

I thought the unintended pun was humorous, that's all... cool people selling radiators.

I'm thinking of taking advantage of the sale to get one for my '67.

I have the direct fit in natural aluminum and use a flex fan. To overcome the aluminum appearance through the grill I use fiberglass screening, it also keeps the bug out.
