okay guys, haven't posted on here in a long time. Wanted to keep the element of surprise for those of you who made it to Bloomington. For those of you who didn't, we would like to share a few photos. These are not meant to highlight any one thing in particular. Its a dreary day in st. louis with no natural sunlight and pretty over cast so please ignore the darkness of the paint and awkwardness of the flash. We will do a final posting once we are ready to deliver the car to its owners and give it the justice it deserves. Its been a blast working on this car, just gonna work out a few more kinks and send her on her way home.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

I am surprised to see the orange overspray on the steering knuckle and brake hose. Is that typical? I thought the engine was painted before it was installed in the chassis. How would that overspray have occurred at the factory?
I understand overspray on exhaust manifolds and transmission cases, but this is new to me. What is it that I am failing to understand here?

When a car is this perfect!
I hope the job wasn;t ruined by using modern grease, anti-freeze and oil, and spark plugs, etc.!
PS trying to think about where to get Vintage correct Air and Water!

Awsome!!
Great job! Going to be one proud owner there.
I have seen the orange overspray knuckles on other restorations. I think it is not unique. Someone here will know. That is one reason this is such a great forum. Lots of historic knowledge here.
Love photos. Did learn something too. Looks like BB67 cars have the overflow setup. My BB(66 L72) does not have an overflow tank. In fact the mounting holes on the right fender well have been filled in. Did all 67BB cars have the overflow tank setup, or was this special to the L88?
Again, Super resto. job. You can be proud of your workmanship.
Seems that anyone needing a resto. can be confident in your shop.

Absolutely positively stunning restoration !! Wow !!
Tim, I've followed all of your posts and always eager to see your work. You are to be commended for your skills and attention to detail in everything you show us here. Thank you for taking the time to share your work and all of the excellent photos that you post.
Please correct me if I have this wrong but I believe the orange paint is a factory daub mark to indicate that all of the appropriate fasteners have been properly torqued?
On the earlier C1 cars, I've been told that the front steering knuckles were painted with a orange daub mark to indicate they were shot peened to add strength to the part. Or was that the reason on the later cars as well?
Pics of a original knuckle from a '59........
As far as that brake hose is shown, I think the hose just has a orange stripe, not paint, correct? At least it looks that way in the photo.

p.s. Wow again!
