Default Top Flight auto vs 4 speed

I'm looking at a beautiful Top Flight Award winning '67. The concern I have is that it is TOP DOLLAR and it's a 427/400 3X2 automatic transmission. Is the automatic detrimental in this car in regards to $$ value? If so would the difference in value be significant? You are the guys that know please weigh in.

A 400/air auto is very rare. I believe there would be a premium over a 4-speed. I had a 400/air red conv, that was on the cover of the Dobbans resto. book. The license plate bracket should be offset to the side. If the Corvette has real paper work it would be a Corvette that if you needed to ever sell there would be buyers. Lots of people want autos because some can't drive 4_ speeds.

Why are you mentioning that the car has a Top Flight?

I assume to differentiate what the Corvette appears to be a as delivered from the dealer when new as apposed to a resto-mod.

Why not say 'original or 'restored' car then. I hope this is not another TF= 'authentic' thread.

I've rarely found that an Auto commands a Premuim over a 4-Speed car everything else on the cars being equal. No good guys, no bad guys, that's just been my experience over the past 30 years in the hobby.

That's my thinking too.

Regardless its a really nice car and with the help from a few of you guys I think I have authenticated the car… now it's decision time.

Thanks for everyone's assistance.
