DASH Lights LED for 257 & 1445 bulbs 1967 Convertible
Hey Guys...
This question got buried in another thread where I asked it... so I deleted it and started a new Q Here...
I'm an electrical neophyte, and have a question regarding the switch to LEDs
Using this pic from George's Stuff Stl-vettes.com as a reference...
When I look for a LED cross reference
I get
1816/7 = BA9S
1445 = BA9S
257 = Nada
A 1816 or a BA9S(LED) fits in the 257 Socket, and for that matter, the LED folks SAY that the 1445 and BA9S are equivalent.
My question is... is/are there any complications with just using BA9S throughout? I have two boxes (20) of these LEDs.... I know I'd be giving up the flasher aspect of the 257... but is that all?
The weather is getting nicer, and I'd hate to have my 67 (Driver) restoration being delayed for the purchasing/shipping of 2 $0.55 light bulbs... I already wasted a month waiting on 2 5/32nd Press nuts that go on the fresh air cables... (ughhhh... don't ask)
Being stationed overseas has its disadvantages...

I also sprayed the cluster area behind the bulbs with aluminum paint for better reflection.

Ha!
That is the thread that I had the question in... and it was quickly burried.... so I brought it out to see if anyone could give me an answer.
There is nothing in that thread that addresses the 257 to BA9S/1816 switch, and if, besides the loss of blinking effect, there were any negative issues.
