Default 1959 Rear End

I would love to take mine on longer trips on the freeway, but the engine is just screaming with a 3:70. A friend suggested I get a 3:08 and just change it out, but keep the 3:70, which is a posi.
My question is, I'm sure this third member is the same as used in passenger cars, but what year & models? Any other GM models use it? I can keep my eyes open for these at the swap meets.

according to Tom Parsons, 58 thru 64 passenger car. or, you might install a 5speed transmission and keep your present rear end.
