Default Fuel For 1965 Corvette...I Know It's Been Discussed

Okay...I know I posted something on here recently and there is always a very heated argument for both sides. However, I found a station near my house that has the ethanol-free gasoline. If I have been running the car since I've had it for a month now on premium with ethanol and it's doing fine, is there a real advantage to using the ethanol-free gas in premium form? I know the whole deal with if the car sits and doesn't get used much. Assuming I use a complete tank once a month though. And, I am using gas with ethanol in premium form at 93 octane. I think the ethanol-free gas is only rated at 90 octane from what someone told me. Is that worse using only 90 octane rather than the ethanol gas at 93 octane? If you have used the ethanol-free in your car do you notice it drives any better? Ethanol-free is $4.50/gallon at my local station.

I run 87 octane, ethanol-laced from the cheapest place available in my dual quad, 270hp solid lifter 283ci with 9.5:1 compression ratio. If your car's CR is close to that you can do the same all day, every day.

That's a pretty safe statement.

wHY don't you try a few tankfuls and see what happens. You may decide to quit paying $1/gallon penalty for something that gives no benefit.

In your case, go with the cheapest and save some $$$ for parts and bling or take the wife out to dinner or buy some bling for your wife...
