Default 66 Hood Emblem Question

My hood never had the front drivers side corvette stingray emblem. I purchased a new one from Paragon. The underside of hood has the box type frame with only a 2 small openings in the area where the emblem studs would come through. Don't think I will be able to get the push nuts on the stems. Anyone have a photo of the underside of their 66 hood in this area. Now wondering if my hood is a 66?
Thank You

Place the pal nuts on a 1/4 drive socket and start the nut on the stud. That doesn't sound difficult at all. Tip for you start the nuts on the studs before you place emblem on the hood

You should have four access holes (three holes and a slot) in the hood inner panel for the emblem stud nuts, shown in the photo below; if you don't have these holes, you have a '65 hood.

It also sometimes helps to put a small piece of masking tape in the socket to help hold the nut.

John Z, you identified my problem completely. Believe I may have a 65 hood. I may attempt to cut a small slot with cut off wheel or 4 small holes with hole saw to access the stems with nuts .
I have no books. Can you provide dimension location of emblem from front edge and also from side edge of hood?
Thank You

John Z. I did not pay attention AGAIN !
The hood does have the slot and holes. 2 of the holes have plugs from the inside. No problem. I now need dimensions as my ***'y manual shows the emblem but no dimensions .
Thanks to all.

I don't have a '66 to measure, or I would; someone else with a '66 will probably chime in.

More results in search. Please disregard the "Willcox" dimensions - they do not conform to the forum consensus.

Hello NM; I have a original '65 BB hood, (without the holes, pass side prop) have had for 37 years. What do you think is a fair ask price, as you seem to have a good sense for this sort of thing. Thank you.
