Default Oil pan swap?

OK, I need to know of the oil pan from a 1971 Chevy full size passenger car 350 engine will work as a direct replacement on a 1956 passenger car 265.

What I am talking about is a direct swap...remove the 56 oil pan, and bolt up the 71 oil pan.

No other changes planned. No oil pump or pickup changes, nothing but the oil pan.

Can I do this?

Yep, just make sure you have the correct gasket (thickness of the front rubber piece).
