Default Windshield Tab

I have a 62 corvette with the windshield out
problem is one of the tabs broke off the pillar post
I called a few vendors to ask if i could buy just the repair tab to have my post repaired here in Canada
Not one would sell the tab only,,,they all want me to ship my post to them for repair,,, that could take up to a couple months
my question
do any of the forum members know where i could purchase the repair tabs only,,, would save me 6 weeks of my car sitting and waiting
i hate the thought of that especially with nice weather finally getting here

so,, if you have the repair tabs,,, or know a vendor who makes them
let me know please

Thx
Steve

Steve,

I had thought of repairing my tabs, when I found them broken (I have a mill). But after looking at it, decided it was better done by a "professional" who has done them before, and has all the correct fixturing. This was around 2001, and I sent them to Corvette Central, and had then back in a couple of weeks.

They did a terricfic job.

Edit: I had sent the posts off to CC on 11/1/2001, and had the windshield all back on the Vette on 11/19/2001 (including reassembly of the windshield).

See this old thread:

Good luck,
Plasticman

I agree,,, that is why I lined up a machine shop locally to do the work
I live in Canada and the cost of shipping back and forth would triple the cost

You could try to contact Paul Mazut and see if he would send you just the tabs (and probably the big screws to secure them: info@paulmazutcorvette.com
Phone # 413-243-3439.

Can't say if he will or won't but you might have better luck with an individual than the big vendors... Let us know what he says.
